Intro

The Shoal Creek hike and bike trail is a nice, family friendly cruise that goes right through Austin west of downtown. The trail runs along Shoal Creek from 38th Street to Town Lake and through several parks like Pease and Duncan.

What Makes It Great

Across 9th Street from Duncan Park are the "9th Street BMX Jumps", a city funded BMX park that was given to the public to manage. If you like to ride BMX, or freestyle mountain bike you should definitely check out this park to get some air time on the jumps. Pease park also has a really good Disc Golf course, if you want to stop by for a round with your family or friends. There are numerous restaurants and bars on either side of the Shoal Creek Hike and Bike as this trail cuts right through Central Austin. Enjoy cruising on Shoal Creek!

Who is Going to Love It

It's a mellow bike path perfect for families, casual cyclists or those combining a day of fun in Austin with a few miles of easy riding.
