Intro

This peaceful 2-mile stretch of the Blanco River eases into an old dam and swimming pool- rustic remnants of the 1934 Civilian Conservation Corps' efforts to create this park. This tranquil spot on the river has long been a campsite, and today it offers a excellent swimming, fishing, and paddling.

What Makes It Great

Dammed on two ends to create a deep, calm lake, the river is stocked with Rainbow trout every winter. The spring fed pools are very popular in summer months, but the rest of the river is great for paddlers and fishers throughout the year. Entrance fees are $4 daily and camping ranges from $17-23 nightly.

Who is Going to Love It

Blanco River is a relaxing and calm place to standup paddleboard, fish and flatwater paddle. It's not a huge body of water but is a nice place to be on the water for a half day and enjoy the rest of park amenities once you have had your fill.
