Intro

Located on the north shores of the lake, with the largest stock of rental Stand-Up Paddleboards in Austin, The Rowing Dock offers a convenient access point to Lady Bird Lake – the easiest paddle in Austin with the best city views.

What Makes It Great

Paddle upstream 1.5 miles to Red Bud Isle and Tom Miller Dam or downstream 4 miles to reach Longhorn Dam. Another popular paddling destination is Barton Creek, which is only 0.5 miles from the dock. Twilight paddles to see the Austin city skyline or a full moon are highly recommended!

Currents in Lady Bird Lake are rarely strong and only pick up when the dam is open; otherwise the occasional headwind is the only challenge to paddling.

Who is Going to Love It

This location also rents kayaks, and of course provides all manner of rowing opportunities. With your own boats and equipment, use the boat ramp/spillway just 200 yards from the rowing center.
