Intro

Not everyone thinks of windsurfing when they think of Austin, yet this spot on Lake Travis offers a consistent year-round destination for windsurfers of all levels. Park access is very easy -- although it may be crowded during the popular summer months, as it attracts families, boaters, divers and other water enthusiasts.

What Makes It Great

There's a consistent breeze that is enough to put the wind in your sails but rarely so strong that it causes disruptive waves. With great access and good conditions, it's a fine place to get your surf on.

Who is Going to Love It

If you windsurf, you likely have already been here -- and will be back again. It's one of the better lakes for windsurfing. There's a good community here, so it is a good spot to start the sport if you've never tried it before.
