Intro

One of the most inviting geological phenomena of the Texas Hill Country, Hamilton Pool provides fun, quick hiking and trail running trails, as well as a stunning swimming hole for a post-workout dip.

What Makes It Great

The trail takes you down to Hamilton Creek and winds through boulders and Cypress trees until opening up to the main attraction: a fifty-foot waterfall, which patters down into a collapsed grotto basin that is simply perfect for swimming. Park access is limited to first-come first-serve, and this spot can be extremely popular during the hot summer months.   Enjoy easy family hiking, wildlife viewing, and a gorgeous, refreshing destination.

Who is Going to Love It

Trail runners who want to zip around on the humble trails will enjoy the vibe and views before they take the inevitable plunge into the pool itself. Get in your run, swim, relax, repeat.

Directions, Parking, & Regulations

Entry fees are $10/vehicle, and that day pass will get the same vehicle into any other Travis County Park. For the more ambitious adventurer, check out Reimer’s Ranch Park, which is conveniently located 2 minutes down the road from Hamilton Pool, and make a weekend of it by camping at Rock Dog Campground
