Situated across the street from Region's Field, home of the Birmingham Barons baseball team, and around the corner from the beautiful urban greenscape of Railroad Park, Good People Brewing has become a considerable part of the city's developing identity, and a staple in southern craft beer. It's a great place to unwind after work, cool off after a day in the outdoors, or watch live music and sports, and it's a necessary stop before you walk over to the Barons game. They offer five year-round brews, four seasonals, and a special batch here-and-there, so there's always something different for every palette. What Makes it Great Hop lovers will be blown away with the flavor of IPA (India Pale Ale), an unfiltered, dryhopped ale that will quench your thirst in the summer with herbal, earthy hops with a hint of light caramel. The Brown Ale is known for being sweet without the heaviness, and has a nutty edge that will be an instant favorite. The Snake Handler is their most requested beer, a popular double-IPA brew with light “aromas of pine, citrus, flowers, spice, pineapple, and grassiness” that complements a “biscuit and caramel backbone”. The taproom is in the same gigantic room that houses the brewery's fermenter and other equipment; it has super-sized jenga blocks and plenty of space for a game of corn-hole. Because there isn’t any food served at Good People, the patrons are encouraged to bring their own food or order from one of Birmingham’s many great food trucks that are often parked outside. And while a visit to the taproom is essentially a self-guided tour, they offer staff-guided tours for more acute details on their beginnings and operations on Saturdays from 2:00 - 4:00. The tour starts on the hour for $10, plus you get to keep the pint glass. The beer is available in cans at most grocery stores in the city, and if you're flying out of town or back home, Good People's Airport Pub offers a last chance to have a pint before you embark. Who is Going to Love It Good People Brewing is definitely the place that you’ll want to grab a friend and hang out a while. With plenty of large table space, giant spool tables for two for the more intimate conversations, or a curved bar for the ones that would like to focus on the game, you’ll arrive thirsty and will never leave disappointed. These “Ales from the Heart of Dixie” offer pale ales for the patrons with a lighter preference and deep, strong ales for the hefty tastebuds.
