Starting at the west end of Ann Morrison Park, ride along the smooth Greenbelt past playgrounds, sports fields and open space to your right and the river on your left. A short ride brings you under the Capitol Blvd Bridge and to Boise State University. Passing the Morrison Center and the library, continue on to the red bridge that crosses at the east end of the school. This section of the trail bustles with families and groups of friends out for afternoons at play, as well as students busily coming and going from classes. Hang a left at the intersection with the trail on the north side and ride back under Broadway and along a pretty, quiet stretch of the river. Don’t be surprised to run across deer having their afternoon snack along the way. At Julia Davis Park, ride past the Zoo and hang a right riding further into the park and towards the Rose Garden. Bring a picnic to feast on at the gazebo and take time to wander around and smell the flowers afterwards.
Hopping back on your bike, head up along the trail towards Ann Morrison, crossing the red bridge to get back to the other side. Stop in Ann Morrison to toss a Frisbee, play a round of on the 18-hole disc golf course, bocce or horseshoes.
Looking for a treat at the end? Ride out Ann Morrison along Royal Blvd to Tree City Juice Café for a delicious very berry smoothie.
