MK Nature Center

Taking advantage of the paved, car-free Greenbelt, enjoy an easy, cruiser ride with your urban adventure partners, and without the worry of navigating street traffic. Riding east of downtown a short and flat distance along the trail, enter the historic, family-friendly Warm Springs neighborhood, home to one of Idaho Fish and Game’s gems; the MK Nature Center.

What Makes It Great

At the MK Nature Center, local flora and fauna take center stage. This modest park is filled with intriguing wildlife, plants and pathways. Adventure seekers young and old will find themselves delighted strolling along the Streamwalk and discovering 3, 6 and 9(!!) foot sturgeon swimming below the bridge over the pond, fish-eye windows into stream habitat, an active beaver dam, habitat for a wide variety of birds, and more.

Who is Going to Love It

The MK Nature Center is a great place for a cruiser ride. Have a basket on your bike? Pack a Frisbee and a picnic and mosey over to adjacent Municipal Park. Picnic tables, barbeques, bathrooms and swings are available to help you extend your leisurely afternoon of fun.

Directions, Parking, & Regulations

Though the Streamwalk is open dawn until dusk, the Visitor Center has shorter hours if you are looking for guided information.
