Golden orange walls inside this historic blue house are just some of the welcoming features that make Java a cheerful locals’ favorite. Nestled in the historic Hyde Park neighborhood and just steps from the outdoor recreation mecca of Camel's Back Park, its no surprise that the coffee shop is bustling most days and nearly every hour its open. Come in for a delicious Bowl of Soul, Java’s signature drink including espresso, coffee, Mexican hot chocolate and their decadent, oh-so-real whipped cream. They also make a consistently robust Americano and offer tasty menu options including delicious, satisfying breakfasts. With a big deck and patio, there is ample space to spread out and soak in the sun while catching up with friends. During the blustery winter months, snag a coveted spot on one of the couches and cozy up to the fireplace.
Java also provides great people watching with patrons spanning the spectrum. Spandex-clad bike racers, tattooed and pierced chihuahua-toting hipsters, families with gaggles of exuberant kids, and busy professionals networking across tables are all part of the regular clientele. On weekends during the breakfast/brunch, Java can be packed, wall-to-wall with folks just waking up after a leisurely morning and those who’ve already completed their morning trail runs and rides. Weekdays, the vibe is a bit more relaxed and Java offers a great place to work remotely. The café is dog friendly (outside only) with a water bowl if Fido needs hydrating on a hot day. They also offer plenty of bike parking.
