Without a doubt one of the hippest spots in Davis Square, the Diesel Cafe is a great place to relax after a long day of biking around Somerville's many winding streets and bike paths. Located amidst a bustling atmosphere, Diesel is considered by many to be the epicenter of the area’s activity. Want to join in on the excitement? Simply park your two-wheeled partner-in-crime in one of the many bike racks located right outside the door and head inside to start your experience.
What Makes it Great
The menu is stacked with coffees and light dishes that cater to the health-conscious individual and will make you feel good about supporting local agriculture, as a large portion of the menu is made with locally grown ingredients. Specialty drinks and foods change with the seasons and in the warmer months, you can enjoy your choices sitting outside on the cafe's patio, while watching the busy world flow around you.
In addition to the atmosphere, food, and drinks, the Diesel Cafe offers two tables for some good ol' fashioned billiard games. There are generally a fair amount of people waiting to use them, but its not uncommon to find a partner and ask the next party on-deck for a friendly match.
Who is Going to Love It<
Diesel Cafe is know as harbor for the hippest of hipsters that Somerville has to offer- and that’s saying something; however, all are welcome through its doors and those that do are sure to enjoy themselves. The food is fantastic, the service is superb, and who doesn't love to play a little billiards every now again? Those of us who chose to ride a bike will have an even better time, as parking around the cafe can be a hassle. Just outside, Diesel features two large bike racks for customers to utilize, making a bike ride here a breeze.
