Intro

One of the best destinations for technical riding in Massachusetts and at only 25 minutes from Boston, Lynn Woods sits high on many local riders' lists. Home of huge drops, wall rides, gaps, and tons of rock features to play on, Lynn Woods is an expert rider's wonderland. In addition, there are loops and single tracks to cruise on throughout the park. With 2,200 acres of woods, ponds, rivers, and wetlands to explore, Lynn Woods will be sure to keep you busy for a long time to come.

What Makes It Great

Location, location, location! Lynn Woods offers a great balance of commute time and quality of trails. Clocking in at an easy 25 minute drive northbound from Boston, Lynn Woods is convenient for afternoon adventures after work or a weekend day trip. Additionally, the trails are both exciting and technical, with a plethora of terrain to explore. Many of the same rocks and boulder fields that make Lynn Woods a popular hiking and rock climbing destination allow expert riders a fantastic, well-rounded riding venture.

At 2,200 acres, you will able to cruise around for a good long for many days while and not see the same terrain or trails twice. This adds to the sense of adventure found throughout the park, but be sure to download a map so as to not lose yourself for longer than you expected. The Friends of Lynn Woods offer a wonderful reference, which can be found at http://www.flw.org/pdf_files/lwmap.pdf

Who is Going to Love It

Experienced riders are going to have a blast cruising around the trails of Lynn Woods. Drops, wall rides, gaps, and rock features dot the landscape. Additionally, single tracks and loops allow for riders to quickly travel throughout a multitude of the park’s wetlands, ponds, rivers, rock features, and woodlands.

There are also plenty of sections for riders with less experience, but be sure to scope out the terrain before you start ripping down the trail or you could find yourself in trouble and over your head in no time at all.

Directions, Parking, & Regulations

Getting there is easy. Follow U.S. 1 N to MA-129 E in Lynnfield, then take the MA-129 E exit. From there turn right on Salem St then take the first exit at the rotary. Finally, turn right onto Great Woods Road and stay on this road until it spits you out at the parking lot

Dogs are welcome at Lynn Woods and if you decide to bring your best friend with you on your biking adventure, you will likely find other dogs for your furry pal to meet and play with. Be sure to pack out any mess that your dog makes, as many of the trails (especially those near the entrance) are will traveled. You wouldn't want to step or ride through anyone else’s mess, so be sure to pass along the courtesy!
