Weston Ski Track

You don’t have to go all the way to New Hampshire or Maine to get a snowshoeing experience. Weston SkiTrack, located in Weston MA is only 40 minutes from Boston and a great place to bring the family snowshoeing. When there is natural snow, you can explore the entire course, which is about 9.3 miles, or you can also have your own adventure and go off-site. While snowshoeing here you and the family can explore the two main trails that run along the Charles River, while also taking in the scenic views of the river and woods.

What Makes It Great

While at Weston Ski Track you can enjoy all the fun of snowshoeing without having to travel far from the city. The track offers a course that is about 9.3 miles when there is a natural snow fall. However, the snow-making machines still provide more than enough snow for you to set out on a snowshoeing adventure virtually any day of the winter. If you do not own a pair of snowshoes Weston Ski Track provides rental snowshoes. Or, if you are a beginner, the track also offers lessons. The lesson includes one of their experienced guides for an introductory class that covers how to put on and remove your snowshoes, selecting the proper snowshoes, how to climb, descend, and cross hills, and more. The class concludes with a guided tour of the ski area to test out your new skills. The 75 minute sessions are offered most weekends and holidays at 11:30 a.m. however, reservations are recommended.
