Boulder's mountain bike scene has grown significantly in recent years, thanks to the efforts of the Boulder Mountainbike Alliance (BMA). The south Boulder trail network has grown to include Doudy Draw, Flatirons Vista and the Springbrook Trails -- all moderate rides that are fun for a long day out or a quick spin after work. Betasso Preserve is the king of speedy singletrack while nearby Walker Ranch and Hall Ranch bring the technical fun. Heil Ranch is a mix of it all -- and can be linked from Boulder all the way to Lyons/Hall Ranch via the Picture Rock Trail. Not far from town are the Magnolia Trails that wind through Nederland and connect all the way to the high peaks to the west. There's terrain for all types of riding -- including the high flying dirt jumps at Valmont Bike Park, a modern and free bike park located right in town.
