Bracken Mountain Bakery is a staple for the locals in Brevard. With the best coffee in town, and fresh made breads, pastries, and savory flat breads, it's hard to not spend some money in here. Bracken Mountain uses coffee roasted in town by the Brown Bean roasting company, which is just down the block. It is roasted fresh daily and is the only coffee roaster in town. Their baked good fit nicely in your day pack or Camel Bak, and you can ask them for a plastic bag so you don't get pesto or powdered sugar everywhere.
The owner of the bakery honed his skills in Germany, and his European style bakery reflects that. Pesto baguettes, cheesy flatbreads and sliced cracked wheat sandwich breads are a few of the offerings at Bracken Mountain. The flatbreads don't come out of the oven until 10am, but pastries, like the blueberry cream cheese danish and almond croissant are available at 7:30 every morning except Sundays. Closed on Mondays in winter.
Bracken Mountain Bakery is located on S. Broad St right downtown.
