The Cove-Daniel loop is a classic intermediate Pisgah mountain bike ride, and one of our favorites. You’ll climb Cove Creek Trail and some old forest roads before a thrilling, rocky downhill on the west side of the Daniel Ridge Loop Trail. This 12-mile route includes about 1,500 feet of climbing.

The freshly built trails at Bracken Mountain Preserve are conveniently located in town, and they're not terribly technical, so everyone can enjoy them.

The “Big M” is a classic Pisgah mountain bike ride, a 12-mile loop featuring a great downhill on the Black Mountain Trail and the scenic singletrack of the Sycamore Cove Trail.

DuPont State Forest is widely recognized as one of the best mountain biking destinations in the southeast. With nearly 100 miles of trails and a rare taste of eastern slickrock riding, spread over 10,000 acres of forest, it's no wonder so many mountain bikers make North Carolina their home.

Bennett Gap is a 6.5 mile loop with one of the fastest downhills you'll find anywhere.

This is a moderately difficult 13-mile loop that takes riders over varying terrain, from very thin singletrack to wide machine grade trail.

While there are no truly “beginner” mountain bike rides to be had in the Pisgah National Forest, this combination of Black Mountain, Sycamore Cove and North Slope is one of the best Pisgah loops for first-timers. It’s a classic warm-up for those who’ve already spun their cranks at DuPont or Bent Creek.

Laurel to Pilot is THE classic Pisgah mountain biking loop. It generally has what everyone is looking for: gorgeous scenery and great trails. Expect a long, singletrack climb and one of the rockiest, wildest descents around.
