Review

The Morris Island Lighthouse is one of the most notorious destinations in Charleston to spend a day on the beach. It also makes for a great family bike ride. The lighthouse viewing area is located at the Eastern tip of Folly beach, about 20 minutes from downtown Charleston. I would recommend parking in one of the designated spots along East Ashley, and biking the rest of the way to the beach where you can see the lighthouse. As you ride along the road next to the ocean, you will come to a cul-de-sac that blocks the rest of the road from cars, continue riding past the gate along the road until you reach the end, where you will find a trail to the beach. This is a short ride, and you and yours will definitely enjoy the experience of seeing the lighthouse as well as exploring Folly Beach.
