Review

The trail at Boyd Pond is owned by the Aiken County department of Parks and Recreation, but managed by local riders, so it is in excellent condition. This 5 mile loop is filled with tight turns and short, steep climbs that make for a really fun ride. The loop is on a small tract of land and sometimes doubles back on itself, so make sure to ride with someone who has ridden it before so that you don’t cheat yourself out of a couple miles. The trail is very sandy which can be a blessing and a curse; it drains almost immediately after rain, but at some points along the trail traction can be an issue. Overall, this is an excellent trail that makes the most out of a small space, and if you happen to be traveling through Aiken, you should be sure to give this spot a visit. You can even cool off in the pond afterwards if you’re not too beat from the trail.
