Summary

This 12-mile trail is surprisingly technical, considering it doesn't have much elevation change. But in spite of the challenge, it's also really fun!

Review

Marrington Plantation Bike trail is one of the more technical trails in the area. Although there is not much elevation change, you will be tested with sharp turns and drop offs. The trail is riddled with jumps and ditch crossings that make for a really fun ride. The red blaze trail is a 12 mile loop, but there are other smaller trails you can take for a longer ride, although i would consult a map of the area beforehand- these can be found easily on the internet. The trail winds through forest, marsh, and tidal wetlands. You will most likely see other riders, as this is a popular trail for mountain bikers and trail runners alike. Marrington plantation is in Goose Creek, just north of Charleston, and it's the perfect place to do some hardcore mountain biking without having to travel too far. As always, take a look at the jumps and drop-offs before trying anything you might regret. Happy trails!
