Review

The South Tibwin trail within Francis Marion National Forest is not a technically challenging trail, but it does provide the rider with some fun jumps and a fast paced ride that everyone can enjoy. The 2.7 mile loop is mostly flat with a grassy trail underneath. I suggest riding the loop two or three times because you’re bound to see some different wildlife each time. Either this or taking a side trail or two for an extension of your ride. The side trails also offer a little more difficulty as far as riding conditions. Overall, this is good loop with shaded views of marsh, hardwood forests, and open ocean. Some very important advice for summertime riders: bring the most powerful bug spray you can get your hands on. You are in a swamp if you’re in South Tibwin, and mosquitoes think you taste good. Also worth mentioning, if you're not a mountain biker, you can still enjoy the trails at South Tibwin, as plenty of hikers and trail runners come here to experience its beauty.
