Review

The Wannamaker North Trail is the product of countless hours of work from Lowcountry Fat Tire Freaks, and they did an amazing job. This mountain bike trail contains natural and man made structures, tight curves, and tough changes in elevation that will leave you feeling pretty beat after you've conquered the 8 mile loop. This is a dirt trail, although it is safe to say that 40% of it is covered in tree roots. There is also a small bmx-style playground for the more experienced bikers to mess around with. This is a challenging trail, but loads of fun. Ask anyone around Charleston and they will tell you to pay Wannamaker North Trail a visit. A lot of people put their time and hard work into making this trail a fun and challenging experience, and it is also one of the few trails made exclusively for mountain bikers, although walkers and runners are welcome. Just past Wannamaker Park, the entrance to the trail is a little tricky, but once you make it to Westview blvd, the trail-head will be 1 mile down the road on your left.
