Intro

The Henson Gap route is a gorgeous loop with challenging climbs and ultra-sweet descents.

What Makes It Great

This strenuous loop starts downtown, climbs up Suck Creek Road, drops into and rolls through Sequatchie Valley, ascends Waldens Ridge and rolls across the top, then drops down the other side for an easy trip home. Once you're out of town, you'll enjoy lightly trafficked roads with great panoramas of the river, mountains, and Sequatchie Valley.

When climbing up Henson Gap be sure to pace yourself, as the climb gets steeper the closer you get to the top. When the climb is finished you'll enjoy a rolling country road and a fast, fun descent. Halfway down the descents on both Suck Creek and Montlake Road, beware of switchbacks that could mean disaster if they catch you unaware.

Who is Going to Love It

Seasoned riders who enjoy a challenge tempered by scenic beauty.
