1885 Grill is poised to become the new social hub of the historic St. Elmo neighborhood. Not only is it located in a beautiful building, just across the street from the Incline Railway in the same compound as the Tennessee Bouldering Authority and at the base of Lookout Mountain, but the eclectic cuisine and inventive drink menu make it a really unique dining experience.
As their website says, they specialize in fresh seafood, perfectly marinated and grilled steaks, and homey, southern sides. If you're not into seafood or if you're vegan or vegetarian, no need to fret; they have plenty of options that cater to whatever food preference you may have.
Come take a load off after your Lookout Mountain adventure at this increasingly thriving Chattanooga hot spot, and enjoy some delicious southern food infused with coastal flavor. Sit outside on their patio (one of the best in the city) and sip on their signature Derailed whiskey cocktail with triple sec, mint-infused simple syrup, and fresh squeezed lemon, and order the Blackened Trout with hushpuppies and collard greens.
Or visit mid-morning on a weekend for one of the best brunches in Chattanooga, featuring steak and eggs, chicken and waffles, and all sorts of succulent sides like creamy grits, hash potatoes, and maple-pepper bacon.
