Do not pass up this rustic Italian, casual fine-dining gem on Main Street. Owner and head chef Daniel Lindley is a three-time nominee for the James Beard Best Chef Southeast award, and it shows. Personal menu favorites (mine, not his) include the hand-dipped ricotta bruschetta with local honey, pappardelle with braised veal breast, and superior tiramisu.
The atmosphere is truly one of a kind for Chattanooga. Everything from the large, medieval wooden door, to the long communal table in the center of the restaurant, to the intimate booths, to the mirror-ringed room in the front just adds to the experience. And the fare is as authentic as it gets. The wood-fired pork shoulder is one of the best meals in the whole city.
If you're looking for an upscale Italian restaurant with an extensive wine list, an exceptional atmosphere, and some of the best Italian cuisine in the southeast, then Alleia certainly fits the bill. Phone: (423) 305-6990
