Intro

Who knew that the tallest indoor climbing wall in North America was in the heart of downtown Chicago? Well, anyone who walked into the Illinois Center might not be surprised, as the wall dominates the atrium and rises 10 stories into the building. That’s more than 100 feet of climbing, which is hard to find outside this side of the Rockies.

What Makes It Great

All climbers must undergo an orientation on the wall ($35 for members, $45 for nonmembers) before they start climbing. Shoes and harnesses are available for rent, or you can bring your own. But you must use the facilities ropes and grigris. Expert instructors are on hand to help teach beginners or help you improve in the sport. It’s one climbing experience you won’t soon forget.

Who is Going to Love It

Anyone who wants to test their fear of heights on the 10 story wall!
