With its waterfront setting and colonial revival facade, the Lake Hotel has been a beacon to weary travelers for 124 years. This is the oldest, and most elegant of all the hotels in the park and has just undergone a complete renovation. The dining room is a beautiful mix of huge windows and casually elegant furnishings that play up the incredibly civilized menu of sustainable, organic fare.

This iconic hotel situated with its stunning view of Yellowstone Lake is a must stop for park visitors. The immense and gorgeous sun room will make you want to curl up with a good book or enjoy a quiet conversation over cocktails in order to revel in the atmosphere and panoramic views. It is quite definitely a luxurious spot.

The dining room is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and despite the elegance, you can sit down with your hiking boots on. The menu features offerings that are not generally found in such an isolated spot. Try the Charcuterie Sampler for an appetizer or the Poached Pear salad with candied walnuts. You can order anything from a Wyoming Gourmet Beef Burger to Copper River Salmon or Montana Natural Lamb. Desserts, of course, are as spectacular as the park which surrounds this lovely enclave.

Dinner reservations are not required, but it will save you a two hour wait for a table.
