Laura Friesell

Hi, I'm Laura, an Omaha native and outdoor enthusiast. When not traveling to the mountains to recreate, I spend the majority of my time involving myself in the Omaha outdoor community volunteering with the National Ski Patrol in Crescent, IA, setting routes and leading trips with the University of Nebraska's Outdoor Venture Center, and working with Outward Bound.

The biggest "myth" to living in Omaha, is that there is nothing to do here. Omaha offers some of the most vast "Prairie Recreating" activities in any midwestern town that I've been to. While we do not have the mountains, we have all the activities the mountains offer, just in a different landscape.

Activities to do around Omaha include: mountain biking, trail running, hiking, backpacking, camping, geocaching, alpine skiing/ snowboarding, cross country skiing, snowshoeing, and much more. We have a bouquet of outdoor recreating areas in our town- go out and find them! Enjoy!
