I got into the outdoor game a bit late, only enjoying my first camping trip at the age of 16. From there, I wasted no time getting outside whenever and however I could. The addiction started with backpacking, then somehow took a turn towards whitewater.
After taking a rafting trip down the Ocoee River I knew I had to become a guide. A few years later I found myself calling my Jeep home and working as a third year guide on the Brown's Canyon stretch of the Arkansas River in Colorado. After returning to Knoxville I got hooked up with UT's Outdoor Program and taught a few kayaking classes during my final few semesters.
My life now essentially revolves around my next adventure, whether it be paddling, trail running, backpacking, mountain biking, hiking, or just hanging out with the trees somewhere in the Southern Appalachians.
