Fat Biking in Jackson Hole, WY
About Jackson Hole Fat Biking
During the 2014-2015 winter season, Grand Targhee, located in Alta, Wyoming, became the first local ski resort to groom singletrack set aside specifically for fat bikers. The resort offers two miles of singletrack just for fat bikers, plus nine miles of Nordic trails shared with other users (including Nordic skiers), all for the low price of $10 for a day pass. On days with poor snow conditions, fat bikes aren't allowed as they might damage the trails, but most days the trails are open and available for use. There are a number of other popular trails in the Jackson Hole region as well, including the Cache Creek Trail network located just a short way from downtown (about two miles from the Town Square), Ditch Creek near the Teton Science School's Kelly campus, and Horseshoe Canyon, which is located a little ways away in the Big Hole Mountains of Idaho, over Teton Pass on the western side of Teton Valley.
