Intro

If riding up the decommissioned Cache Creek Rd. is the easiest mountain bike ride in the area, the Sidewalk trail is the next. But that doesn’t mean it isn’t fun. The Sidewalk, technically the Cache Creek Sidewalk, is immediately next to the Cache Creek Road.

What Makes It Great

Over its 1-mile length, it cuts across an open hillside at a level grade. It first pops out on the Cache Creek Rd. across from a junction with the Hagen trail. If you’re not looking to get onto Hagen here—or you’re on Hagen and looking to avoid riding the Hagen Staircase—which is exactly what it sounds like—you can get back onto the Sidewalk and ride it further up the Cache Creek drainage.  This section cuts through an open sagebrush-y meadow and pops out again onto the Cache Creek Rd. and another junction with the Hagen Trail. Along the Sidewalk there are also a couple of opportunities to cross over to the Putt Putt trail.

Who is Going to Love It

Casual riders and beginners will enjoy the easy terrain and great views.
