Preservation Pub has been a standard for music and mayhem since its inception by quirky Knoxville power (and briefly imprisoned) couple Scott and Bernadette West. Voted Knoxville's best bar and best neighborhood pub, Preservation Pub is the standard for hangouts in the city, and it's constantly creating new ways to experience a night on the town.
What Makes It Great
The ground floor forms the heart of Knoxville's live music scene, with more than 80 bands playing every month. From up-and-comers to established musicians, Pres Pub is the only place you can see some of the best acts around on a nightly basis. The second story is a speakeasy-style bar good for a more relaxed hangout, though you'll still feel the thumping bass below. The balcony offers a nice breeze on cool nights and allows those with a prime table the chance to watch the bustle of Market Square below. Finally, patrons can climb one more flight of stairs to reach the newly renovated Moonshine Roof Garden. This first-of-its-kind rooftop retreat offers a great view of downtown and an often quite and romantic atmosphere for those wanting to escape the nightlife noise. Tables designed by local craftsman Kelly Brown and the general open air aura make the Moonshine Roof Garden a must see for those visiting the city.
Who is Going to Love It
Anyone who enjoys a night on the town and great live music.
