Lake Aloha - Hiking
One of the most popular destinations for day hikers and overnight backpackers who want to explore the 63,000-acre Desolation Wilderness west of Lake Tahoe
This hike is six miles from the trailhead to the lake (12 miles round-trip). You can make this trip longer by continuing on around the lake.

This is a straightforward hike that offers options for hikers of all abilities. Lake Aloha often serves as a perfect introduction to overnight backpacking because of its relative proximity to the trailhead
Time To Complete
The hike is about six miles from the trailhead to the Lake. You can add in more distance by continuing around the lake.
Spring, Summer, and Fall
When the wildflowers are out in the spring and summer the trail is very picturesque.
Several miles of the trail are sharp and rocky...not good for your pup's paws.
Day hikers are required to fill out a free day-use permit at the trailhead and camping is strictly regulated.
