The Squaw Creek / Baldwin Creek road ride at 12 miles is a classic for area cyclists. The Lander City Park at 4th Street and Fremont is a great starting location with good parking and water and restrooms available for pre- or post- ride. To achieve the loop from the park head north on Fremont Street for approximately a half mile until the road starts to curve left and there is a fork in the road. Ride right at the fork turning onto Squaw Creek Rd. Riding north along Squaw Creek road one will enjoy rolling hills, beautiful views of the Wind River Range, green pastures, and pretty red clay formations as you slowly climb to the crest of the loop. After accomplishing the 1.5 mile gradual climb, at the crest of the hill, the road name changes to Baldwin Creek Rd and the loop curves right (East) to enjoy a long curvy decent all the way back to Lander. Once back in town hang a right onto Main St and head back to City Park by making a right (South) on 9th or 5th streets. Or, to up the ante, turn around and ride the loop backwards!
