From Bruce’s Bridge at the head of Sinks Canyon, the road begins to climb up a series of switchbacks and becomes known as the Loop or Louis Lake Road. Paved for another five miles or so, the road travels roughly 24 miles along the edge of the Wind River Mountains south to Highway 28. Along the way it passes a series of lakes and reservoirs — Frye Lake, Worthern Meadows Reservoir, Fiddler Lake and Louis Lake, as well as crossing the upper stretches of the Little Popo Agie River — all of which provide excellent fishing opportunities.
What Makes It Great
Frye, Worthen, Fiddler and Louis Lake are stocked by the Wyoming Game and Fish Department throughout the summer. Anglers can test their skills wading along the shoreline or from canoes, pontoon boats and floats or other vessels. Mosquitoes can be bad in July, so come prepared.
Who is Going to Love It
The lakes are a great place to escape the heat of the valley below and offer opportunities for all ages to catch some fish.

All anglers in Wyoming need a fishing license. Kids under 14 can fish for free but must accompany an adult with a license. You can buy an annual or daily fishing license online at the Wyoming Game and Fish Department website, from a WGFD office, or from licensed providers. In Lander, Wild Iris Mountain Sports, the Popo One Stop and the Good Place sell licenses.
