From Lander you will drive up Sinks Canyon past Bruce's Bridge and up the switchbacks. You will pass Frye Lake before seeing the right hand turn into Worthen Meadows. The road turns to dirt just after this turn off. Worthen offers two trail head options. As you pull into the trail head parking lot Worthen Resevoir will be behind you. To your left you see Stough Creek trail head and Sheep's Bridge trail head will be off to your right. This area has a plethora of options from a short day hike to Roaring Fork Lake (very kid friendly), several long to longer loop options as well as a great jumping off point to get deeper into the Wind River Mountains for some overnight options. Roaring Fork Trail is a nice option to gain some elevation and get some nice views as well as access Stough Creek Lakes. It is about a half mile to Roaring Fork Lake where you will have to cross the creek before heading up several switchbacks. The top of the switchbacks provide some nice views of the Wind River Range. Stough Creek Lakes start at about 7 miles from the trailhead and you can also link this trail system to Sheep's Bridge.
