This is probably the closest climbing area to Central Los Angeles you can find. Located right off of Pacific Palisades, with super easy access, the wall here is nice and shaded and stays cool even during the summer months. The rock here is sharp and sturdy sandstone, and all the climbing is bolted sport routes ranging from 5.7 - 5.12.
What Makes It Great
There aren’t very many routes here, but being so close to the city makes for a great place to quickly escape for an evening of post-work training. Bring your dog, but be sure to keep him/her on a leash. There's no camping here, which isn't a problem because you're basically right on the edge of the city.Ten Popular Routes:1) Guinness 5.6 (Suicide Rock) Sport2) Original Route 5.8 (Main Wall) Sport3) Swallows Revenege 5.9 (Main wall) Sport4) Holy Crap 5.9 (Main Wall) Sport5) The Pyramid 5.10b (Main Wall) Sport6) Flying Guillotine 5.10c (Main Wall) Sport7) Circus Midget 5.10c (Main Wall) Sport8) Axis of Evil 5.10d (Left Flank) Sport9) Perro del Amor 5.12a (Right Flank) Sport10) Perro de la Guerra 5.12c (Main Wall) Sport
Who is Going to Love It
Since this is a bolted crag, it's ideal for sport climbers. The majority of the routes are moderate / intermediate, so it's a good place for climbers to dial in their skills on real rock.
