Intro

This difficult 22.5-mile bike route runs along the scenic Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu, CA. This beautiful route along the historic and beautiful PCH has had accidents and even fatalities to cyclists over the years, but the beauty of the Pacific Ocean and Santa Monica Mountains keeps riders coming back in spite of the potential danger. Just be aware of the risk involved, ride safely, and enjoy this amazing route in West Malibu.

What Makes It Great

The views are spectacular but so is the exposure - for a road biking route, this is quite an adventure! That being said, the riding is not difficult and you should have no problem being safe if you follow the rules of the road and ride in control.

Who is Going to Love It

Malibu Highway is geared more towards experienced cyclists used to fast moving traffic and tight shoulders on the side of the road. You'll have to pay attention during the entire ride - but it's worth stopping to take in the incredible Pacific views to the west.

Directions, Parking, & Regulations

Many people start the ride at the North Beach Campground right off the Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu, though you can start anywhere along the route.
