There are some times though where a person may want to just relax, toss a Frisbee and watch the sun set. There are few places in all of Los Angeles that offer a more serene and beautiful place than Malibu Bluffs Park in Malibu, California. The six-acre park sits right at the junction of Pacific Coast Highway, and Malibu canyon road, making it easy to reach from either Santa Monica or the San Fernando Valley. The general convenience of the place is not what really sets it apart, though. The pristine park is manicured to a T. The grass on the open fields look like the outfield turf at Dodger Stadium they are kept so well. One would not expect anything less from a place like Malibu, but this place goes far and beyond what one would need.
What Makes It Great
Malibu is a south facing town for the most part, so it is important to find the right place to watch the sun set it in the west. If you are not from Los Angeles, you may understand that sunsets are an important and beautiful, but in LA, finding a good sunset is akin to hitting gold, and this park is gold rich. Get to Malibu Bluffs Park as the sun is going down, stroll to the end of the park, which as one would assume is positioned on a large promontory, or bluff. The whole park gives you a great view of ocean.
Malibu Bluffs Park exists outside of the golden hour, and there are many other activates that are a good time in the park besides Frisbee. The point being, this place is one of the most ideal city green spaces in the city, and maybe beyond. Remember, this is in Malibu, but it is technically LA County. Imagine a year round park like this in New York or Kings County (NYC), not going to happen. Enjoy it.
Who is Going to Love It
This is the perfect place for a family that wants to hang out in a safe, open beautiful place. But in reality, any human is going to love this place if they enjoy being outside and don’t mind a small crowd.
