Intro

The 4.2-mile (out and back) Escondido Falls Trail starts at the Pacific Coast Highway and takes riders, runners, and hikers through coastal shrubs and forest to the beautiful, multi-tiered, 150-foot Escondido Falls. These falls are some of the highest and most beautiful waterfalls in the Santa Monica Mountains and LA area.

What Makes It Great

For biking, the terrain is mellow but fun. The trail crosses back and forth over the creek several times before opening up into a grassy flat area. The base of the waterfall is only about 1 mile in; you'll want to be sure to give yourself some extra time to stop and enjoy the views- or even take a dip in the water. Enjoy a bike ride or run at the beautiful Escondido Falls.

Who is Going to Love It

This isn't a hardcore ride but it is a fun way to get out on the bike and get in some miles while enjoying the waterfall. More technical riders might be bored but those looking to soak in the scenery - and a swim in the waterfall pools - will have a blast exploring this area.
