This 6.1 mile round trip takes you on an old abandoned fire road called the Skyline Motorway. The trail has spectacular views of the skyline of downtown Los Angeles, Glendale, Studio City, and Burbank. This route has many spur trails giving a rider many options to take.
What Makes It Great
The fire road is no longer accessible to vehicles, as it has become overgrown with lots of spiky plants, so be sure to wear long pants during your ride. The trail is very exposed high on the ridge, and can be very hot during summer months, so bring lots of water. This trail is moderate, but climbs 1600 ft. in the first 3 miles, so can be a real challenge for some. That being said, the downhill is guaranteed to make it all worth it! Enjoy this small suburban adventure that you will not regret!
Who is Going to Love It
It's a good trail for those who want a good climb. It may be a bit challenging for beginners. The trail has some fun technical obstacles and wooden bridges. The views of the city are spectacular and well worth the visit.
