This 6.4-mile route takes you on the Ocean Front Walk/ Bike Path from the historic Santa Monica Pier to the Will Rogers State Beach and back. You can park at one of the various beach parking lots or at one of the nearby public parking garages near the pier in Santa Monica.
What Makes It Great
Enjoy the sun and ocean breezes as you head northwest along the Ocean Front Walk path. With beautiful views of the Pacific Ocean to the west, the Santa Monica Mountains in front of you to the North, and the City of Santa Monica and the Pacific Palisades to your East, this is a must do So Cal route- fit for a long run or short bike ride. When you get to the Will Rogers State Beach, take a rest (maybe even a quick dip) before you turn around to make your return to the pier. This route can be very busy on the weekends and is a mixed bike route in some areas, so stay alert to avoid collisions.
