Intro

Cheeseboro Park is a National Park Site in the Santa Monica National Recreation Area. This particular trail is only 2-miles long and travels over very flat terrain, making it a perfect run or hike for families and small children. There is a lot of wildlife here, including coyotes, deer, rabbits and the occasional bobcat, so the kids can get a nice escape from the nearby urban landscape of LA and experience some nature.

What Makes It Great

The trail is well shaded by oak trees, and along the route is the Morrison Ranch House, which belonged to the property owner before the National Parks System. This house is a popular halfway point where you can stop and have a picnic in the shade with the family. The trail is fairly popular, so it can sometimes be crowded on the weekends. The park is dog friendly, but keeping them on leash is a must, as it's important to protect them and the wildlife from one another.

Who is Going to Love It

This trail is as mellow as it get. If you're looking for a casual run in a quiet, scenic setting this is it. A few laps on the two mile loop isn't a bad way to get in your miles.

Directions, Parking, & Regulations

The park is located at 5792 Chesebro Rd, Agoura, CA 91301. Park before the gate on the left-hand side of the road and remember the park closes at dusk.
