Intro

This 2.8-mile loop trail in Elysian Park has a small elevation gain of about 200 feet. The trail takes runners and walkers through sycamore and pine forests, and during the spring, amongst a beautiful array of Southern California wildflowers.

What Makes It Great

This trail is well shaded and the trail condition is really good, making it a great little nature oasis right above Highway 5 and in the middle of the city. It's the perfect place to take kids. Just a warning from some, though: the park trail signs here are known for being somewhat confusing.

Who is Going to Love It

The 2.8 mile loop is great for a quick run or for laps. Since it's right in the city, it's a convenient place to get in your daily run!

Directions, Parking, & Regulations

Though the park is conveniently accessible in the middle of the city, getting to the trailhead can sometimes be a bit of a challenge, so be sure to check your maps.  This park is dog friendly, but they must remain on a leash. The physical address is 835 Academy Rd., Los Angeles, CA 90012.
