Sand Flats Recreation Area consists of 9000 acres, but is mostly known for the infamous Slickrock Bike Trail and the Porcupine Rim Trail. This area also offers super camping close to fun trails and town. The views are over the top spectacular. There are eight other camping areas, but Juniper is by far the most spectacular. There are no reservations for any of the camping in the Sand Flats Recreation Area. They are first come first serve and are typically full on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays in the spring and fall.
