Most of the activities in Moab are go big or go home outdoor sports, but not this one. The Mill Creek Parkway is the perfect place for strollers, tricycles, bicycles or just a quiet stroll under the shade of trees along on creek. A couple of miles in each direction, the easternmost point, the Rotary Park, the western most point the BMX dirt bike park and slack line Park.
What Makes It Great
The quieter side of Moab, the perfect place for fun with families or just a quiet stroll to unwind in the shade. Start at Rotary Park on Millcreek Drive, play on the “free notes” musical playground, swing on the swings, watch hummingbirds with their natural bird feeder, then start walking towards town on a shady paved path. Pass the school and go through student painted tunnel to pass the Youth Garden. Stop, take a tour, snack in the Nibble Garden and enjoy the scenery. Further along, come upon the Bark Park and the site of the Arbor Day Grove where most of the trees were planted in 1999. After the next tunnel, kids and dogs will love playing in the little pool of deeper water in the creek. Follow the creek through town, over more footbridges out to Williams Way, the site of the BMX Dirt Bike Park and the slack line Park.
Who is Going to Love It
This is the perfect family zone. It is also perfect for a quiet walk or a short paved run. This is not a path that people move quickly on and there always a ton of kids playing on it or near it. You can go other places to move quickly.
