Barista Parlor is much more than just a coffee shop. They take their craft very, very seriously, and the result is one of the best cups of coffee in the country. Not to mention an amazing environment with the perfect ambiance.
To call Barista Parlor a coffee shop is to call the Grand Ole Opry a radio show. This East Nashville hipster heaven is a place where coffee is more important than CDs or t-shirts or whatever else they sell at nearby chains.
Housed in a renovated auto shop, this well-designed space features cool, original works from local artists, uniforms from local designers, interesting furniture and attentive servers. They take coffee very seriously here. The staff is able to answer questions about their pour-over style and different blends, but you need to be patient as your caffeine fix is prepared. This kind of intimate and dedicated craftsmanship takes time.
While you wait, take in the art, the beautifully dressed crowd or just the blue sky, as the auto shop doors open up to a large parking lot-style patio on nice days. Also, be sure to try their pastries. The eclair is delectable, the house-made bourbon buttermilk waffle is to die for, and all of the eats are made with local & seasonal ingredients. The big, open outdoor space is often filled with dogs, their owners, and people practicing yoga poses just for fun.
Barista Parlor has ample parking with a lot behind the building. There's also street parking in the the neighborhood. In the summer Fido has before-opening-hours yoga classes, and year-round there is free WiFi, but really, the focus is all about those beans.
