After a hike, bike ride, trail run or paddle, you may be hungry. And possibly not dressed to impressed. That won’t matter to the fine folks at Fido who will serve you better-than-average eats and a beer. You’ll be served without comment on the mud on your shoes or the lake water on your shorts.
Owned by the same folks who run Nashville Bongo Java, Fido is more than a restaurant. It is a place to get work done, see deals made, and see and be seen. Almost everyone in the city has been here at one point, to take a meeting or just sit along the front plate-glass windows and watch the activity of Hillsboro Village.
You’ll place your order at the counter, which is designated with a sign from an old pet shop out front (hence the name Fido). Then servers will bring you your meal. They’ll know who you are by a little sign with a picture of a dog that has been handed to you. The menu includes seasonal specials, sandwiches, salads and baked goods; the big chopped salad, with peppers, cabbage and bleu cheese is a favorite. Fido serves breakfast, lunch and even late-night dinner, so whenever you’re off the trail, they’ll be waiting.
Whether returning from an outdoor adventure or fueling up with one of Nashville's best breakfasts, Fido should definitely be added to your Nashville Must-Eat List.
