In the heart of downtown lies a gastropub with a surprising outdoor space. Work your way upstairs to the rooftop patio, which allows you to breath in fresh air from the center of the hubbub. The food here is better-than-average pub food, with great tacos, burgers (beef, lamb or even a wild boar sloppy Joe), plus a selection of healthy and not-so-healthy dishes. Feeling virtuous? Kale salad. Not so virtuous? Poutine. Lunch specials are the rare downtown bargain meal.
Even if you can’t nab a coveted table on the roof, Pub 5 is worth a visit. The interior is decorated with reclaimed barn woods and exposed brick yes, so is everywhere else, but the staff is friendly and the set up is perfect for hanging with friends after an outdoor adventure.
With the central downtown location, the address can’t be beat. Of course, that means Lower Broad congestion and parking issues. There are pay lots, street parking and shuttles from the east side of the river, depending on downtown events. The Nashville Downtown Partnership site is a great resource for area parking information.
