San Antonio Taco Co.

Buckets of beer

Vanderbilt grads swear by this Tex-Mex joint thanks to it location just across the street from campus and the buckets of beers served along with cheap tacos and an oddly-addictive queso cheese dip served with light, crunchy chips. But real reason to head to SATCO, as it is called, is its larger, inviting outdoor patio. Settle in for an evening and watch the sunset. Order another bucket of beer and enjoy the people watching up and down 21st Avenue South.

What Makes It Great

Quality, affordable tacos and beer in a relaxing setting -- a perfect place to hang out and relax.

Who is Going to Love It

Anyone who loves a great taco!

Directions, Parking, & Regulations

For more than 20 years there have been a few constants in the Vanderbilt campus area. And one of them is: You will get towed if you park in the lot to the north of SATCO. There's often free street parking on Scarritt Place to the south or at parking meters on 19th Ave. South.
