Review

Just Bowie Nature Park is located in the heart of Fairview, TN, approximately 30 minutes outside of Nashville. Bowie is open for hiking, running, horse back riding, and mountain biking. There are also six ponds that are open for fishing, a large playground for the kids, as well as many pavilions and grills available for recreational use.
This park offers many different trails for you to choose from, but the most popular is the Perimeter Trail Loop, which consists of 4.9 miles of rolling hills on a terrain of rocks and pine needles. With two stream crossings and views of both woods and farm land, this trail is a must if you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. This is a great place to work on pacing. The park is rarely crowded and chances are you will see more wildlife than people.
As is the case at most Nashville area parks, you are welcome to bring Fido with you, just make sure he is leashed. The park is very safe and you will probably see one of the rangers out and about on his four wheeler. Parking is located in the middle of the park. In the parking lot you'll find very nice restrooms and a large map of the trail system.
One quirk: If you come to ride your bike on the trails or bring your horse, you must pay a $2 fee if you do not live in Fairview. There is an honor box at the entrance of the parking lot.
