Trumbull's Old Mine Park has something for everyone. Whether your a hiker or a mountain biker, beginner or expert, this place has a trail route for you to explore with options a plenty.
What Makes It Great
The trails themselves are not marked as well as some other destinations around Connecticut, but then again, you never get the feeling you are too far away from the entrance. Most of the trails form tightly together to give the feeling of exploration without that much consequence to getting lost. Sure, without some sense of direction and maybe a small map, you do pose the option to wander in circles for a long while, but never to the extent you won't be able to find an exit or road.
For mountain bikers, this is one of the best locations in the state. If you're a hiker, check it out just the same. It gives a great spread of the terrain and what to expect.
